Who we are
We've been building dream homes for Kiwi families since 1990, and the values we started with are exactly the values we build with today.
Building dream homes for over three decades
Over 35 years and thousands of happy clients later, our commitment to quality, care, and personal service remains exactly the same as it was when Peter first started out. We believe that great homes come from great relationships, and that belief sits at the heart of everything we do.
Peter Ray Homes was founded in 1990 by Peter Duckmanton, a builder with a passion for creating homes that genuinely work for the people living in them. What started as a one-man operation has grown into one of Canterbury and Marlborough's most trusted home building businesses, with a close-knit team of designers, consultants, and builders who share that same passion today.
What matters most
Care
We care about more than just the build. Understanding your needs, your lifestyle, and your vision drives every decision we make.
Integrity
We work with honesty and transparency at every stage, from pricing to process, so you always know exactly where you stand.
Consistency
From our trusted team of builders and suppliers, many of whom have been with us for over 30 years, to the quality of every finish, you can count on us to deliver.
Partnership
The day you've been waiting for. We carry out a thorough quality check and walk you through your new home before handing over the keys. We have a 90-day maintenance period where you can call on us to fix anything that doesn’t feel quite right.
